How to beat the Colts’ record 5k, record 5K world record
In a year when many NFL fans will watch a game for the first time in years, Indianapolis Colts quarterback Andrew Luck has become a national celebrity.
But the Indianapolis Colts’ five-time NFL record holder, Indianapolis native Adam Vinatieri, is the last person to have done it.
The five- time NFL record for a 500-yard rushing effort is 5,087 yards, set by the New England Patriots in 2001.
The Indianapolis Colts have beaten that mark by an average of 9.8 yards per rush.
It took Vinatieris five years to break the record and he’s the second-oldest player in NFL history.
Vinatiri has the distinction of having played the most games of any player in his first 10 seasons, and he had a career record of 5,097 yards in 2002.
In his career, he has run for 2,058 yards and 16 touchdowns.
Vinatos pace was the second fastest of his career.
The Colts’ 5-time winningest player has never been the leader of the team and the team hasn’t won a Super Bowl in his 10 seasons.
Vinatores record-setting rushing touchdown in Sunday’s win over the New York Jets is a testament to the record-breaking effort.
The touchdown came in the first quarter, and the Colts had been leading 14-0 when the Jets took over at the Indianapolis 1.
The score was Vinatiani’s fourth of the season.
Indianapolis won the game on a fourth-and-4.
It was the Colts third victory of the year and their first since a 23-21 victory over the Green Bay Packers on Dec. 30.
The Patriots’ Dan Marino has the NFL’s single-game rushing record of 6,907 yards, which Vinatini set on Sept. 5, 1991.
Vinati was the team’s leading rusher in his second year, and after the Patriots’ season ended, Vinatianini led the NFL in rushing for two seasons.
He was the first player to lead the league in rushing each of the last two seasons and he set the league record with 1,959 yards in 1991.
The Colts are now 13-1, with Vinaties MVP and most valuable player, running back Ahmad Bradshaw, out with a concussion.
Bradshaw suffered the injury late in the fourth quarter of Sunday’s game against the Jets, and Vinatii rushed for 105 yards and a touchdown in the victory.
Brads was the backup to Peyton Manning in the Colts offense and he was the starter in the regular season.
In the playoff win against the Buffalo Bills, Bradshaw had a season-high 97 yards rushing on 20 carries.
In that game, the Colts went with a more physical style of running, and that allowed Vinatir to be the more effective runner.
The running game was an important part of the Colts winning the Super Bowl.
The Broncos have been playing with two quarterbacks, and both were benched for their performances.
In this season’s playoffs, the Broncos had the league’s best passing offense, and it had a big influence on the Colts in the win over Buffalo.
Vinatinis running ability helped lead to the Broncos touchdown.
The play started with a pass interference penalty on Denver’s Ryan Lindley, who was trying to keep the Bills from scoring.
Bradhasson tried to tackle Lindley with his forearm, but the pass was thrown in bounds and the play ended.
Vinathis speed also helped with the run.
He gained almost 4 yards per carry in the third quarter, which was good for the fourth-best rushing performance of his four-year career.
The Broncos won the AFC title, but they lost in the Superbowl to the Patriots.
Injuries have also hindered the Colts.
In 2016, Vinato was out for the year after undergoing knee surgery.
Vinotini suffered a torn anterior cruciate ligament in the fifth quarter of the game against Denver.
The injury kept Vinatiano out for most of the next four seasons.
In 2017, Vinotis knee surgery was repaired and he returned to the Colts for the season finale.
In 2018, Vinatos knee surgery went well, and his season was saved by the return of Bradshaw.
Vinatuis return to action in 2020 is expected to be delayed by the birth of his second child.
The birth of Vinatina, Vinata’s first child, is slated for Aug. 30, 2021.
