The Most Influential Recordings of the 21st Century: Griselda Records,Record Zoom Meeting
In the summer of 2016, Griselde Records founder and CEO Michael Eiseman took to his company’s Facebook page to announce the purchase of a record label called Griseldia Records.
This was a significant move for the record label, as it would be one of the first times a major label would own a label of its own.
The deal was reportedly worth $5 million, and Eiselman has since described the acquisition as the “most important record sale of my life.”
The deal was also met with some criticism, especially among fans who thought GriseLDIA was a direct result of a recent public relations debacle with Griselad.
In a post on Twitter, Eisman wrote that the “major labels are all in it to make more money and make more albums.”
In an interview with Billboard, Grislda’s head of digital media, Mike O’Brien, said that Griseldoma had been acquired to “make more money.”
In the interview, O’Brien said that “we were just looking for the best music to be made for the fans and that was our goal.”
However, many fans were quick to criticize Griselvia, who were left with mixed feelings.
The majority of fans on Griselta’s Facebook group, which has over 17,000 followers, wrote in response to Eiserman’s announcement that the label was going to sell records.
“What the fuck are you trying to say?
This isn’t a label anymore, it’s just a band,” one fan wrote.
“It’s not the Griselevia that you are looking for.
You’re just looking to make money.”
The label is also said to have been heavily involved in Grisellevia’s upcoming reunion, which is slated for July 20 at the Belly Up Fest in Columbus, Ohio.
Grisella has also released two music videos for the new album.
In one, the band sings about the band’s history, which was highlighted in an interview they did with Rolling Stone in 2016.
“It’s the band, it is the music, it will be the sound, the vibe and the feeling of Griselelda,” said Eisler in the interview.
“This will be something different.”
