Texas Tech football scores a game-winning touchdown on the last play of the third quarter
The Texas Tech Red Raiders scored the final touchdown of the game on a three-yard pass to Devin Jones to tie the score at 21-21.
Tech (9-4, 4-3 Big 12) led 17-14 at halftime.
But Tech’s final drive stalled when the Horned Frogs (8-5, 4:13) converted a fourth-and-1 at the Texas-Oklahoma 41-yard line.
A fourth-down scramble put the Red Raiders in field goal range, but quarterback Justin Davis’ fumble recovery gave TCU the ball at its own 36-yard-line.
After a timeout, TCU took a short field goal to cut the lead to 23-17.
The Horned Horned Gun scored the last five points of the half on a 14-yard run by DeAndre Hopkins, who had nine carries for 66 yards and three touchdowns.
The Red Raiders had not scored since a 38-yard field goal by Texas Tech in overtime in an overtime loss to Baylor on Oct. 4, 2015.
The Cowboys also lost to Oklahoma State in the Cotton Bowl.

The junior running back ran for a career-high 1,000 yards in 2016, and had 1,009 yards rushing last season, good for fourth in the Big 12.
“Devin has been a tremendous leader and teammate for our team, and we’re excited to have him as a member of our 2017 class,” head coach Kliff Kingsbury said in a statement.
