Tabak Division commemorates 6th Marawi Liberation Anniversary

CAMP SANG-AN, ZDS – The 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division participated in a solemn Wreath-Laying Ceremony in honor of the 6th Anniversary of the Marawi Liberation held at the 103rd Haribon Brigade, Kampo Ranaw, Marawi City on October 17.

The Wreath-Laying Ceremony was attended by esteemed guests, including Presidential Adviser on Peace, Reconciliation, and Unity, Sec. Carlito Galvez Jr., and the AFP Chief of Staff, Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr., who led the ceremony.

Present in the program were Acting Commander of 1ID and 103rd Brigade Commander, BGen. Rey P. Barroquillo Jr., Lanao Del Sur 1st District Representative, Cong. Zia Alonto Adiong, Lanao Del Sur Vice Governor, Hon. Mujam R. Adiong, Marawi City Mayor, Hon. Atty. Majul U. Gandamra, WESMINCOM Commander, MGen. Steve D. Crespillo, 4th Infantry Division Commander, MGen. Jose Maria R. Cuerpo, PNP-LDSPPO Provincial Director, PCol. Robert S. Daculan, and representatives from various government agencies.

The ceremony served as a solemn reminder of the sacrifices made by our brave soldiers and law enforcement personnel who fought valiantly to liberate Marawi from the clutches of terrorism. It also symbolized our unwavering commitment to peace, unity, and reconciliation in the region.

During his speech, Gen. Romeo S. Brawner Jr. expressed his gratitude to all the fallen heroes and their families, stating, “We will forever remember the courage and sacrifice of our fallen heroes. Their bravery and dedication serve as an inspiration to all of us, and we will continue to honor their memory by upholding peace and security in our beloved nation.”

The 6th Anniversary of the Marawi Liberation is a significant milestone in our nation’s history, reminding us of the resilience and strength of the Filipino people.

The 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division also remains steadfast in its commitment to ensuring the safety and well-being of our citizens, and we will continue to work towards lasting peace and harmony in Marawi and the entire country.
